Non-surgical Therapy in Abilene, TX

Here at Sam Spence D.D.S, we offer top-quality non-surgical gum treatments. This kind of treatment is often helpful in treating the early stages of periodontal disease. This entails removing bacterial plaque and tartar from both above and below the gum line.

Periodontal disease, sometimes known as "gum disease," is a chronic infection caused by bacteria that infects the gums and eventually the bone that supports the teeth. Regular dental cleanings may not be enough to clear the infection since the germs might securely cling to the tooth roots beneath the gum line. Root planing, often known as "deep cleanings," becomes necessary in certain situations.

Periodontal infections, unfortunately, are frequently silent and can go unnoticed for years without causing any noticeable signs such as pain. This is why it's critical to see your periodontist on a regular basis, especially if you have other health issues such as heart disease or diabetes. Subtle indications of gum disease, such as red or swollen gums, gums that bleed when brushed or flossed, persistent foul breath, or loose teeth, can alert you to the need to contact a periodontist.

If you notice any signs of gum disease, do not delay visiting our dental office. Always remember that any problem can be easily resolved at an early stage. If ignored for a long time, gum problems can be the reason for a nightmare. Book an appointment at Sam Spence D.D.S to ensure the wellness of your gums.

Dr. Spence and his staff are so kind and knowledgeable. He is conservative with care and does not rush into decisions but gives the kids time for growth and allows the body to do what it can before becoming invasive with procedures. 4/5 due to lack of online payment system. We've used his office for 19 years for our entire family. He is great with the kids too. He has a great laugh and I totally trust him with my family!

I have been going to Dr. Spence since I was a young kid and I could honestly say that he is such an awesome dentist. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my teeth. He is so vibrant and kind and the rest of his staff is just as amazing. If you’re looking for a new dentist I would 110% recommend Dr. Spence. If you’re looking to get your teeth cleaned, which I recently did, the dental hygienist is literally such a sweet person and your teeth will never look or feel cleaner!
